Phoenix Karate club return from national competition

MEMBERS of the Phoenix Karate club have just returned from the Japanese Shotokan Karate Association national competition in Glasgow with four National champions. Pupils, Jamie Leigh Beadle, Thomas Tonnison, both nine and Kathleen Pulham,13 all achieved first place for Kata.

More than 100 athletes to represent Canada at world karate championships

Karate-do Goju-kai has ancient roots in Japan and China but this weekend competitors from more than 20 countries will be in Richmond, B.C. The Karate-do Goju-kai Global Championships take place every four years. This is the seventh time the martial arts event has been held and the first time the tournament is in North America.

Dojo’s big karate strike win

Groton – If current levels of discourse are used as evidence, the concepts of respect and self-control appear to be swirling the bowl. And so if the conduct of adults falls on the low side of the learning curve in such categories, what do you suppose their children are being taught? PH bags 12 karate golds

The Philippines garnered a total 36 medals, including 12 golds, to claim the overall championship in the 37th Karate-do Gojukai Singapore International Championships recently at the Singapore Badminton Hall. Adam Bondoc, Krisanta Renzel Asistido and Matthea Lazo claimed two gold medals each as the Filipino young karatekas from the Association for the Advancement of Karatedo Philippines showed class and domination in the tournament participated in by 150 athletes from 13 karate Schools/Club from seven countries.
