Success for Cheshire Martial Arts Centre ahead of world championships

CHESHIRE Martial Arts Centre students will be looking to build on recent success when they compete in the United World Karate World Karate Championships in Italy. Jess Bate, Ben Hutson-Redfearn, Rebecca Cameron, Rio Johnson, Darron McQuillon and John Cameron set out to Italy on Wednesday with the UWK England contingent including head coach Paul Graham, eighth dan, who is also chief instructor of CMAC.

Community sports: Peninsula Youth Football crowns champions

The games played in succession and started with the youngest group, the 5- to 6-year-old Mini Mites, which saw the Old Town Ducks nip the Williamsburg Gold Hornets 22-19. Next, the Mites took the field, and the Poquoson Bulls overtook the neighboring Grafton-Tabb Tigers 26-19.
