Auburn police conduct training exercises at Auburn High School preparing them to respond to possible emergencies, including responding to an active shooter. ( Napoli, the owner of Five Star Martial Arts in North Syracuse, will hold an active shooter seminar at his studio this Saturday, Jan. 27. Five Star is partnering with Shihan Jeff Sgarlata, owner of Team Sgarlata Martial Arts and Team One Krav Maga in Cicero, for the two-hour class.

Soaring Eagles karate coach gets kick out of his sport being part of Olympics

KEIGHLEY karate club master Oliver Thornton is “excited” that his sport will be a part of the 2020 Olympics for the first time. Bradford-born Thornton runs Soaring Eagle Karate Club, based in Dalton Mills, and hopes the martial art will become a regular fixture at what is the pinnacle of sporting competition.

Martial Arts: Success for Veras Academy at Two-Day National Karate Championships

The London-based club, who train in Tower Hamlets, Islington and Hackney, sent a 27-strong team to the event at the Leicester Arena. A string of impressive displays saw Veras collect 14 gold medals, five silver medals and six bronze medals at the competition.

The Arab Women Sport Tournament (AWST 2018) logo

The fourth edition of the region's largest women's sports tournament is only ten days away, and Sharjah Women Sports Foundation , announced that a total of nine sports will be played at the Arab Women Sport Tournament , including volleyball, archery, shooting, table tennis, athletics and equestrian show-jumping. Organisers have announced that the AWST 2018, being held under the auspices of the wife of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SWSF, will be inaugurated with competitions in the three sports of basketball, fencing and karate.
