Olivia Brodie won the girls 12-to-13 year-old, 35-kilogram kumite division at last week's official Karate Canada National Championships in Halifax, N.S. Brodie also won a silver medal in the girls 12-13 kata division, and she'll represent Canada in both disciplines. Brodie is qualified to compete for Canada at the upcoming international tournaments Pan-Am Karate Championships in Brazil in August and is on the early track to qualify for a future Olympics, perhaps from 2028, said her karate sensei Richard Mosdell of Kenzen Sports Karate.
